Hello to All

Welcome to the first in our regular blog giving you up to date news and info about gigs and what's going on in the world of GTW.

What a week!

Friday saw the arrival of a massive box of our freshly-pressed EPs ready for the launch night on Tuesday at the Attic. The excitement is already setting in!

Tuesday was the big day and a massive thanks to everyone who came on down to the launch gig. We were supported by Sideshow Lost (their first gig!), The Vordermans, and EFS with a packed crowd at The Attic. Photos will be uploaded soon!!!

The show rocked and a great time twas had by all! All of Gone Til Winter's closest friends from the past 5 years were all there and we were even convinced to do two encores! Big thanks to our artwork designer Richard Harvey who came up all the way from Kernow (Cornwall to everyone else) to watch us and, as always, the effervescent Durf (Fred Marecesche), our web designer, seemed to enjoy himself… Piss head.

Massive thanks to (the lovely) Rachel and anyone else who helped us with the merchandise table! We even had a cake for the launch – and a free badge with every purchase!!! We'll add them to our photos as soon as we can!

Joe managed to split his thumb open by rocking out too much! That's hardcore – none of you can ever complain now if you're in pain when playing because the show must go on!!!!

Wednesday meant us trying to get through Manchester rush hour, along the M62 and to Huddersfield for another headlining gig in Huddersfield, organised by Mark Mynett (ex-Kill II This/City Of God) who also engineered the night and guested on bass for EFS (as he did the previous night). It's always good to play to crowds where we don't know anybody – totally different experience to the night before!!!!

We played our set to a relatively small but enthusiastic Yorkshire/student crowd, using a massive rig supplied by Huddersfield Uni in a tiny, thin, but long (like me – not) room . Enough gear to play Manchester Apollo in a room the size of one bowling lane. Rock on!

Joe this time, totally re-split his thumb open and spurted blood all over his bass. A photo of his war wound will be uploaded shortly (and his bass soaked in red!!!!).

Our next gig scheduled is Friday April 20th at Manchester Academy 4 (the new room) so we expect to see you ALL there. See a band member for tickets in advance or Myspace/e-mail us and we'll sort you out!!! Hope to see you all there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rock on

Nath
